Hypertension or high blood pressure can happen when you needlessly stress yourself out or for no conscious reason at all.
You may think that this is only dangerous for old persons. It is more dangerous for them, yes. It does not mean though that young people should let themselves become emotional shock absorbers, listening to the love problems of all their pals.
This will add to their stress. Hypertension happens when you have a higher systolic blood pressure and a very low diastolic blood pressure. Systolic is the blood pressure on the arteries as the heart beats. The diastolic is the blood pressure in the space in between heartbeats.
Aside from heart attacks and strokes, being the most common, hypertension can cause bulging on the artery walls. This bulge will make the wall of some of your largest arteries, very weak, and in time, it may break. This is related to the hardening of the inner part of the artery walls. Sometimes, fats even get deposited along the hardened parts. With this, blood flow to other parts of the body will be blocked. It may even cause kidney failure for some. The blood to the arms and legs gets weaker. So the strength of the muscles there will also be affected. Life threatening problems can result.
The usual solution for hypertension is medication. But medication has many side effects and does not treat the cause of high blood pressure. What is the cause?
Chronic hyperventilation.
If you have hypertension, then you may not be breathing properly. What is surprising is that you may be breathing too much air. The more you do that, the lesser the amount of oxygen will go to your lungs, and other parts of the body. Your whole body breathes oxygen, not just your lungs. Think of your lungs as the ventilator machine.
For your hypertension to go down, you must breathe through the nose and not the mouth. Also, try to notice if you are using your chest or your stomach to breathe, because you must use your stomach. The diaphragm is there, which is the most effective muscle used when breathing. And another is that you must have a pause in between exhaling and inhaling.
