How To Use And Profit From Safelists In Internet Marketing

By Richard Teich

Safelists solve many email problems for internet marketers. For one thing you can quickly and cost-effectively reach thousands of other marketers to expose your business offers. In addition, you never have to worry about spam complaints because the mailings are handled by the safelist admins. You simply agree to receive emails from other safelist members.

Looking at other people's offers that you receive is an important part of maximizing the benefit of your membership of your membership in a safelist. I typically go through emails early in the morning and get some ideas on how I want to present my own offers. In addition to gaining the credits when you open a safelist email, taking the time reviewing other offers is valuable because you can tell which offers might be promoted so many times that it's probably not profitable for you to promote it at that time.

When you send a safelist email, you need to know that you should stay away from trying to sell things to safelist members. These people are, plain and simple, looking for opportunities to make money and they are much more inclined to respond to offers for something that is free. And if you are sending a mail to multiple lists, be aware that those lists probably contain many of the same people so you will have your message duplicated.

So one way to make yourself stand out from the crowd is to put together a more personalized squeeze page rather than just use the standard affiliate pages. Squeeze pages are easy to create particularly if you use a system like AdKreator. Also: don't waste your time writing a long email when you send out a blast to a safelist. People don't read safelist emails; they simply scroll down to the link where they click for credits.

Also, while many safelists tout themselves as "super responsive" - you really should expect on a typical direct mail response of about 1% of the total list size when you send out your offer.

One of the other challenges with safelists is managing the amount of email that inundates your inbox throughout the day. I belong to several safelists and get hundreds of emails each day. The best thing to do is to set up a "filter" for each safelist. You can easily do this on Gmail or just about any other hosted e-mail service.

By filtering safelist email you can decide which list you want to read mail from without having to wade through a crowded inbox.

Managing your safelist email with filters is a great way to make sure that the important mail in your inbox doesn't get lost. Just as easy you can create an email account just for safelists!
